Tuesday, January 9, 2024, 7:00 p.m., The Dalles Hall
Dear listeners, on the evening of January 9, 2024, we invite you to participate in a recital dedicated exclusively to one of the greatest composers of the first half of the last century. The recital is part of the many musical events on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of the birth of Sergei Rachmaninov.
An emblematic figure for 20th century pianists, S. Rachmaninov was a creator who tackled all musical genres: from piano miniatures and wonderful cycles of romances, to monumental concerts or symphonic works.
The protagonists of the recital, Soprano Ruxandra Maria Urdăreanu and pianist Dan Stoenescu, will offer you a conceptual, original program, having as a red thread some of the most beautiful pieces for voice and piano (romances), intertwined with other emblematic themes from the creation of the great pianist and composer .
The special guest of the evening is cellist Eugen Bogdan Popa.
We look forward to welcoming you to a special musical evening, whose motto is Rachmaninov’s words: “Music is enough for a life – but a life is not enough for music.”
Entry is free, subject to availability.
